Ok I just recently bought a new (to me) LB7 and the info I found on this site was invaluable in making that decision. The search feature was also very useful but I thought it would be nice to compile a list of all the things to look for in one thread along with links to other threads that go into detail about the specific issue.
I'll start :)
The hole that can be produced in the intercooler tube when it rubs against the power steering line. Unless you know exactly where this is it can be extremely difficult to locate from the top of the engine compartment. You are best off to remove the driver side wheel well liner, which takes very little time. Or simply bend it out of the way if you know where you are looking.
The transfer case rub leak. I know a lot less about this as mine is a 2wd so if someone else can chime in I'd appreciate it.
I'm sure there are others so please post them here. And prospective Duramax owners please don't let these forums scare you these really are phenomenal trucks, It's just that people usually only post when they have a problem and not when they're thinking "Man my truck is awesome!".
Thank you to everyone who participates and I'll do my best to keep the list updated in the first post.
