Ok I just recently bought a new (to me) LB7 and the info I found on this site was invaluable in making that decision. The search feature was also very useful but I thought it would be nice to compile a list of all the things to look for in one thread along with links to other threads that go into detail about the specific issue.

I'll start :)

The hole that can be produced in the intercooler tube when it rubs against the power steering line. Unless you know exactly where this is it can be extremely difficult to locate from the top of the engine compartment. You are best off to remove the driver side wheel well liner, which takes very little time. Or simply bend it out of the way if you know where you are looking.

The transfer case rub leak. I know a lot less about this as mine is a 2wd so if someone else can chime in I'd appreciate it.

I'm sure there are others so please post them here. And prospective Duramax owners please don't let these forums scare you these really are phenomenal trucks, It's just that people usually only post when they have a problem and not when they're thinking "Man my truck is awesome!".

Thank you to everyone who participates and I'll do my best to keep the list updated in the first post.

lb7s ROCK, except... tcase pump rub, nsbu, lopey idle-fpr and injectors. And now ic tube rub. Oh well - nothings perfect. My truck has only had tcase and nsbu and it had some hard use before I bought it. Without this site what would I have to worry about?gg.

Exactly, I was scared to death to drive my truck after joining this site, but my truck has never let me down, and sure it has the repairs listed above, except for the NSBU and the innercooler line, a dash of 2 stroke cure the lopey idle 2 years ago, but what the heck after 182,000 miles, gotta do something!

I guess I got a Wednesday truck?

I've got a couple pics in my garage of what to look for regarding transfer case "pump-rub." The holes can sometimes be hard to find, so a couple signs would also be ATF spray on the undercarage from the tranfer case back, or JB Weld patches on the case itself.
