This thing is getting expensive. Just got this tractor through an estate auction fall time. All records came with it, well looked after, always sheded, 3 clocks in total of 6100 hrs. The front pump started to leak in early spring at the input shaft. I pulled the pump and the local JD dealer rebuilt it. I told them to throw the book at it or if parts and labor went over 50% of new, I would go the other way. New buttons, main shaft, screen and some other parts that escape me right now. I replaced the hydraulic filter and fluid, cleaned the pick up screen. Parts guy is good friend some one I went to school with since kindergarten and stood up for each other so I trust his opinion. I was never very impressed with the way it worked after so I also pulled and check the flow control on the side of the trany. Spring was intact and proper length and tension and no foreign bits in there. Replaced the O rings in the spool valves. The hydraulics would shudder occasionally and then the later the loader was very slow to lift and the steering assist kicked out. I work off farm also and rarely run this tractor so I'm not exactly sure when it started but 7 - 9 hrs of run time is all thats on the pump. After checking the pump pressure and SCV pressure was good at 2100 psi we though it could be the rear pump. This is beyond my shop and time and down to the dealer she went. I got back an answer of the front pump is gone again. Locked a piston when they went to bring it in. I'm not getting many answers and they don't seem to want to stand behind their work. I was given the choice of a wrecker or new pump. I'm going to get the new pump. What do you think of whats happened? Should they stand behind the rebuild or was this just another expensive life lesson.
