Here is a parts number reference for the various versions of the Duramax fuel filters. I had originally posted an earlier copy to another thread. I have just added the Racor numbers and thought it would be easier to find this post with a search if it were a new thread.

Hope some of you find it helpful. Please post away if you know the missing numbers for the old style Wix (33810?) and Baldwin filters, or if there are any errors or additions.

1st Generation Fuel Filter (2001):
This is the original LB7 filter, but it will also fit the LLY.
Original GM number: 97256734 (Changed summer 2004??)
AC Delco number: None

Updated number, but same filter:
GM number: 89016324
AC Delco: TP1298

2nd Generation Fuel Filter (2004.5)
This is the filter originally installed on the LLY. It is slightly longer than the original LB7 filter, and will not fit the LB7 without an adaptor from Eric.
GM Number: 97363539
AC Delco number: None

3rd Generation Fuel Filter (Dec, 2004)
This is the current filter containing a filter within a filter. It replaces the first two generations and is intended for both the LB7 and LLY engines. It is the same size as the original LB7 filter. It can be identified by black stripes printed on the outside of the filter.

GM Number: 97385488
AC Delco Number: TP1298A

The 1st and 3rd generation filters were/are available under different brand names, but are all made by Racor and are the same filter. It appears the 1st generation has been discontinued and the remaining stock is being sold out.

Old style - is the original 1st generation filter.
New style - is the dual pleated 3rd generation filter.

NAPA (I think they are obtained from WIX, still made by Racor)
Old style: 3810
New style: 3910

Baldwin:
Old style: 7727
New Style: 7827

WIX:
Old style: ???
New style: 33910

Racor:
Old style: INF 4598
New style: PFF 5544

AC Delco:
Old style: TP1298
New style: TP1298A

Edited 03/03/05 to update with missing numbers.
