Hello everyone,

I joined a few weeks ago and have been reading a lot of the info here, finally picked up my Suburban yesterday. Its a '97 2500 with 165,000 miles on it. I put about 400 miles on it right away. Its running very well, I'll have to work on a few issues inside and out but all in all I'm happy with the purchase. I plan to convert to burn wvo in a month or so. This is a great forum, I look forward to getting some help and learning a lot from everyone here.

Welcome to the site. Nice Suburban. I ise to have one simiar in 1999 but she got rear ended bad to the point where she moaned while driving her after the repairs were done. Had to get rid of her. She was a great truck and great for family trips and towing the boat. Nice big 42 gal tank too. Im new here too and learning the ropes about getting a diesel truck. Duramax style. Enjoy.

I like the big tank but my first big fill-up was a shocker. I had put around 10 gallons in when I picked it up, then burned the tank pretty low to get rid of the older fuel, it had been sitting a while. It took 35 gallons for $175. The pump shut-off limits made me pump $100, then use another card to pump $75.

Its pretty amazing to me how much truck you can get for so little money on the used market, I might not like paying for the fuel but for the same reason the re-sale is really beaten down. I paid about 1/6 what a new Suburban would cost for a vehicle in reasonably good shape, a pretty good deal I think.

Yeah I bet that would be a shocker fill up. Last a while though. Yeah theres a boat load of trucks and SUVS available for sale now. Guess you need to run bio diesel in that burb of yours now. Probably could get Bio Diesel for $3.50 a gallon. Should help it run cheaper and cleaner.

I'm converting it to run wvo, have a kit ordered from Goldenfuels. That should be cheaper in the long run!
