I just recieved and installed my predator today and am fairly happy with the results, but do I have to pull the fuses everytime I hook it up? I read in the manual about onstar and that jazz, but my truck does not have onstar or xm radio, just the base cd player. It would be much more convient if I didn't have to pull fuses when I want to make adjustments.

I've done it several times without pulling the fuses. Do so at your own risk however.

Its just three simple fuses......its worth it to avoid a problem.

The Predator does two functions:

Programming

Data Logging/Errors

For programming, pull the fuses, and replace them when done programming. For data logging DO NOT PULL FUSES.

Ive never pulled my fuses. The questions are:

Do you haev OnStar? If yes, then pull fuses as Onstar will try to download during programming.

Do you have some sort of video system? Pull the fuses for them as they interfere as well.

Make sure that all accessories are turned off. Radio and doors closed.

Since I have had mine, I have bever had to pull my fuses just had to make sure no accessories were on.

Yeah, I've done it without pulling fuses a few times. And my truck has OnStar and DVD.

You can get some scary results though. Like it telling you that your file is corrupted (it lies) or REDUCED ENGINE POWER error that must be cleared.

If you don't scare easy, do it without pulling fuses.

LOL, I've never had an error. I always have pulled the fuses when downloading or uploading the original tune. No use in playing with the devil on that one. For changing tunes and such I don't pull the fuses.

I do have onstar.

I've never pulled the fuses. Just shut and lock doors (so no one opens one) turn off radio, blower motor, lights, etc. so nothing is pulling current and start programming. I had a predator on my '01, it had onstar, I only pulled fuses once or twice, then grew tired of doing it and stopped.... once I had some sort of an error but I just went through the steps again and it was fine.
