I hope someone can help me out. I got a code from my truck - P0101 Can someone tells me what that is? I had the engine light on about 10 times so far and everytime the dealer said it was about the mass air sensor. They have told me it is from the KN FIPK. Is it best just to put the stock one back on?

Also, when I start the truck up and just push the throttle down a little bit, the RPM's go up, then when they start to fall, it seems like it wants to shut off. The RPM's go back fine, then. My battery is getting to the point, that it is time for a new one. Could this be some of the problem. The Volts are about 12.
Thanks!
Doug

My truck is a 2002 with 42,000 miles on it.

MAF sensor, most likely cause would be dirty from the oil on the filter.

vrod - Perhaps you got some of the oil from the K&N on the mass air flow sensor?? If you did and need a new one, let me know..I have a GMS unit from my old truck that maybe has 10,000 miles on it....I'll make you one hell of a deal on it (It doesn't work on the duramax http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif)

Is there a remedy for the oil on the sensor? ( could I clean it) I guess my real concern is the RPM's. I should of wrote that this only happens when it is parked or early in the morning. If I go to stop at the end of the driveway, they go way down, then right back to were it should be. I also had the Hypertech installed and just put it back to stock. We are going for a battery tonight or tomorrow and I just thought it would be a good idea to put it back to stock. Once the new battery is installed, I will see if that or the programmer is causing it.
Thanks

no doubt that your mafs is dirty...grab some Lectri-clean and spray it down. also you have probably noticed a "little" gain with the fipk, but not what they claim to put out...I am running the factory box with my Whipple and have yet to max it out...cold air is good air, and the fipk sucks from the engine compartment...drop in a Amsoil or K&N panel into your factory box and be done with it...may not sound as good, but would be better for your motor.
