So, we took that 1995 6.5L for drive today on the highway (same one from my lrecent post titled "common practice...". The engine supposedly has 200000km on GM rebuild, new tranny, blocked EGR. Interior is in real nice shape and the body is ok minus rust through below ex. cab window on drivers side and some surface above rear fender. The guys asking price is $2500. We pulled the codes after riding on the highway and came up with the following codes:

DTC 32 - EGR Circuit Error
DTC 33 - EGR Control Pressure/Baro Sensor Circuit High
DTC 84 - unknown
DTC 99 - Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 5-Volt Reference Problem

So, we deleted them with the old brake and accelerator trick and away we went. Drove back to town and checked codes again and found only DTC 33. Truck rides nice except for some heavy vibrations during acceleration (couldnt reproduce the vibration later with acceleration). The truck also starts and runs nice. I couldn't believe what a difference NO TURBO made!!!!! Wow, she was a little gentle when floored. Also, 4X4 works well, no leaks underneath, guys claims it doesnt use any oil. By the sounds of it does the truck sound alright to you guys? I think its a hell of a deal epecially if the guys comes up with the documents for the engine and tranny. However, i would like to hear some other opinions. Thanks.

Buy it, keith... sounds like a hell of a deal. Check the front pulleys, U-joints and CV joints if you're concerned about that vibration under power, but those are all fixable.

2500 is cheap like dirt.

Just curious.....what's the brake and accelerator trick to clear codes?

also

What are you doing to rectify the DTC 33 code?

Reason I ask is, I'm throwing the same code and my '94 is running like shyte....=/

Thanks

To rectify the code 33, I would check, all vacuum lins for leaks/cracks. Check/replace the solenoid(s) and/or the baro sensor.

I believe if you press the brake pedal and hold the accelerator pedal to the floor for 15 seconds it will clear the codes on an OBD 1

Code 33 should be relatively simple to fix. I solved mine by replacing the centre EGR solenoid, but as Chevylover says you should first start by making sure the vacuum line isn't cracked and that the vacuum line connections to the EGR solenoids and baro sensor are secure. If this checks out, then make sure the solenoids and sensor are functioning properly. Previous posts will show you how to do this.
