I am on the phone with Chevy and they can not find the 5/100 for the duramax diesel 6.6L warranty. The dealership is denying the starter and I gave them the codes that a forum tech gave me.
("Cobra3747 - I checked this morning, both flywheel and starter are warranty code D, which is the 5/100 with $100.00 deductible. Labor op code is J4640 for the starter, which is code D. I am guessing you have an Allison? If so labor op code for flexplate (flywheel) J1400, also code D. If you have a manual trans J1420 is the labor op and also code D.")
I have looked through the manual myself and it does not state the starter is covered. The flywheel is... Isn't it amazing that Chevy Customer Service can not even find the 5yr/100,000mi. warranty. She doesn't even know that it exsists!
So can any tell me for sure if the starter is covered under the 5/100 or not... And if so where did they find the info so I can print it out for the customer service people...
Thanks

Wow, find a new dealer. If they search the VIN they will see all applicable warranties. It is also stated in your owners manual supplement "Warranty, Maintenance and Owner Assistance Information"
***Edit, I can't find where the starter is covered either.

starter likely isnt, but the flywheel I know is. Just have them replace the flywheel and you supply them an aftermarket starter that they can put on as they have to take it off to install the flywheel anyways..

Unless for some reason our warranty time guide has a mistake in it.

Thanks guys! I just got off the phone with Chevy customer support service center and their rep Tonya Williams had no clue. I had to direct her and help her find the warranty - she didn't know of the 5/100 either - and this is Chevy Customer Support!
They also stated that the fly wheel is covered and it will take 10 days to get the part drop shipped from Isusu. So they have had my truck for 10 days now for the starter and that is when they discovered the broken flywheel, and it is going to take another 10 to get the flywheel in - yet they won't give me a loaner veh. because loaners are not covered under the 5/100 according to the user manual - Is it time to go to a Ford - this is getting rediculous!
Again, thanks for your help!!

I bought the 3rd party starter from e-bay and it fits perfect. Has a 2 year warranty and was shipped over night instead of 10 days! Flexplate is different story...

Not being brand loyal, I really hope you dont think Ford is better.
I just had a 2004 Cobra bought back, what a nightmare that was. Dealer claiming that the soft brake pedal was normal, the vibration in the transmission in 3rd being normal.
I had a 2003 Powerstroke, had a wheel bearing starting to go bad, was barely noticible, took it to a Ford dealer (not the same one as the cobra) had a friend that was a truck mechanic, he called Ford on it, they told him he had to leave it till it got worse. Needless to say, I trade that truck in within the next 3-4 months. I liked the truck and the car, but trying to get Ford to warranty or acknowledge a problem when it exists has always been a hassle.

I guess its hard to judge all the crap people have to go through with GM, just seems from this side vs me going to Ford, that people have a little easier time with GM.
