I have a buddy and he's got a 2006 Dodge megacab Cummins. He recently had NADP install an edge juice W Attitude. He told me that for a duramax to run with his megacab they would need 3 Grand in mods just to keep up let alone win:lol:. I am a cummins guy, but I do have lots of respect for the DMAX, just some people are such idiots.:cookoo:

For some reason, people are waaaay too misinformed about Duramaxes. I've heard from they're slow, to them having a multitude of problems, you name it. People are retarded. That's all I can say about it.

I'm a Cummins guy too but... if he ever runs a DM with $3K in mods he'll get religion, in a matter of seconds. Hopefully you'll be there to witness it.

Where does he live. I am in CA and I am willing to travel to make some money. Lets see if he can keep up with my Dmax with about 3 grand into it. I need some extra cash.

If I'm not mistaken, NADP is in the NW corner of Edmonton, Alberta. Same place I bought my FS2500. BTW: I've got well over 3k of mods into mine...and I live in Calgary. Not throwing down a towel...cause I really could care less...but some people git just a bit 'tupid.

He must be one of those guys with a set of balls hanging from his receiver..?? Typically I find the bigger the set of balls, the lessor the size of cranium. (-%

Cheers,

LOL the dmax takes to a single box so much better then the cummins. My dmax with a edge juice runs way better then my mega cab with one.

I have a 6.2, also a 12V cummins, also a DMAX. The 6.2 is slower on take off than the Dmax but outruns it at 112+ MPH. The 6.2 has only a Military Humvee IP all else is stock! The Cummins was a turd factory, but with very little money leaves both GM's in a cloud of smoke. The 6.2 has 262,000 and never even a single oil leak or problem other than IP pump and glow plugs I love the old bugger. The DMAX is a 2005 and has spent more hours at the dealership on Warranty than out working, a Lemon of a motor in my truck and a truck with wiring problems from the factory---- JUNKER!!! My old 96 Cummins has 487,000. The Dodge part is crap, Dodge death wobble, door hinges fail, poor rear brakes. The Motor though is bullet proof and has left many a PowerJoke and Duracrap in a cloud. Just being Honest....

My Ass.

I can't even believe you're bringing a 6.2 into this conversation. No offense to anyone with a 6.2, but we all know that you can walk faster than one. And, we all know that pretty much any tuner for a Dmax will eliminate the speed limiter, besides, who drives 112 MPH anyway? Yes, 12v's are easy to mod. Fuel plates, injectors, timing, turbo, etc. But I don't think anyone's buying your claims..............especially the part about owning a Duramax.............especially using that one in your first post. Stick around and gain a little creditibility before you go shooting your mouth off how old ass trucks are better than new ones.

I never did understand why the 6.2 got such a bad rap. My dad has one in his conversion van and I tell him that when he scraps the van, I want that engine.

It started its life towing an enclosed race car trailer. From there it ended up with my dad who has put it through its paces. Just a few clicks from 200,000 and so far injector pump and glow plugs have been replaced once.

It may not be the most powerful diesel GM made, but it sure has been reliable for us. And ample power to tow what we need.

My goal is to get the engine some day, rebuild it, and then transfer it into an older 80's style 3/4 ton GMC or Chevy.

a lot of people turbo the old 6.2 because they have no power, then they like to crack pistons. i have personally seen one break a crank right in two (this could happen to any engine though).

it might be a decent engine, but a lot think its not worth the time

well I got two 6.2 two 6.9 and have drove the d-max the newer deisels are awsome to the older ones as far as plug and play turners to make them scream.. but some of us like the simplicity of the old diesel no start? it was no fuel or dead batteries ... a new diesel you almost have to a lab find out why it won't start... yes the 6.2 are crap sometimes yes mine broke a crank at 45 mph but it had over 250,000 miles and hauled a drag car all it's life each diesel has it place just depends which owner you are ... I like being able to run wmo/wvo/ with no sensors going haywired JMO:p:
