why do you think its going?

i thought mine was going in my dodge, then all the springs blew out of the pressure plate. throw out wasn't to bad.

when you depress the clutch it makes a bit of a clattering noise.

I've had two vehicles that had bad throwout bearings and both of them made all kinds of noise when you depressed the clutch pedal. For what it is worth, whatever the problem is will require access to the clutch - I think the throwout bearing is the cheapest thing it could be to replace. If the clutch has been there a while, might as well replace it while you are there...
