I just had my bed sprayed less than 3 months ago with Line-X. I did not go with the Xtra, as I didn't feel it was needed. I must say however, I'm amazed at how crappy the bedliner looks already? I do live in FL and the sun is pretty bad, but it looks like the liner has been in there for 5 years relative to what some other friends of mine looks like after a few years. I haven't spilled any chemicals back there, other than the occasional drips from a gas can or chainsaw. It really looks dull and faded quick! Is this normal? Not a huge concern, it is a truck, but wanted to know if something was going on that I needed to take it back to the Line-X dealer? Thanks guys!

It might just be dirty... Try lathering it up and then spraying it real good.

I've had my Line-X since November and it went through a wicked winter last year, and it looks great

If it gets too bad, I believe they can still put the kevlar extra on as a top coat. I opted for the extra myself, just for being scared of what u are going through.

I've had mine since my '02 was new. I did not get the "over the rails" as I had already installed the GM bed rail caps. The Line-X has held up well, but yes it isn't as glossy as it once was. I believe Line-X sells a conditioner that can bring the shine back.

The only damage I've got was running a genset in my bed while stopped at a rest area. The exhaust was pointing towards the bed and melted the line-x. I felt kinda stupid after that move.

YZ and 06,

Let's roll. I was just out at BeerCan Island on Sunday with the boat drinking a few adult beverages. It was a great time. I'd love to dive the bridge, I always suspected that there were some groupers and snappers down there.

That's kinda what I was wondering about the fade issue. I was fully expecting it to fade, however, based on what I've seen of other Line-X'd trucks, it looks like its 4-5 years old, not, 4 months old. I'll swing it back by the dealer and see what they say.

YZ and 06, PM me and let me knwo when ya'll want to go do some fish slaying! I'll catch some from up on the top side, then I want to go under the water and hand pick out my next grouper dinner!!! YUMMY!! Take care guys!

Just got mine done this morning in Miami. Hope it stays nice for more than 4 months. But then again, the bedliner that came in the truck was trashed by the 3rd week, hauling gravel, sod and pavers. The wife definitely keeps me busy.

it was reccomended to me not to get the extra for the bed if you actually use the bed like i do in construction. they told me it would show scratches from hard use.

i have had mine for 6 months and it is completely faded. i have a rubber mat in my truck and it still looks new under the mat but every where else looks like crap. i might stop by my dealer and see what they say.

o6- we spray all the trucks for carl black! Our shop is in Bradentucky but our tags say Sarasota! Glad to hear you like our work - we hit the beach on thursday and friday jumped three and landed about 150lb fish! We fish most weekends so if you want to meet just let me know when!

it's funny what some dealers will say to sell you away from a killer product- why do they do that you might ask? Well it is because they are probally not set up for spraying Xtra as it requires more training and a spray booth!! OK so you wear down your line-x from use which happens mainly on the surface of the floor. Remember this is why you are buying LIne-X-This wear is going to happen if you have the Kevlar or if you don't! But the rest of your truck bed is going to look 1000 times better then standard line-x six months down the road! Go to your dealer and tell them to renew your truck, I would be interested to hear what they say!!

Line-X renew is a patent pending process that incorporates Line-X Xtra onto any spray on bed liner making it look like a fresh Line-X Xtra Kevlar bed liner! Check out the top of this page- http://line-x.com/
