Anyone had any problems with their drain plug leaking? It just leaves a drop or so over night. It is tight but not to tight. I started noticing it about 2500 miles ago. I just changed my oil the other day and forgot about calling the dealer before. but it seems alittle worse now. I have a new driveway and really don't want any stains. especially from a new truck

So has anyone had any problems.

thanks George

I have not had a problem with mine leaking (14,000mi.)
Who does your oil changes?
Did you ever replace the brass washer?
Check into getting a FUMOTO oil drain valve, that way you will not have to remove the drain plug every oil change.

Yes check to see if your brass washer is still there...some times they will come off and don't know it when you put it back on..if it's still there I would Replace the brass washer with a new one first..that should solve the problem...good luck...

the copper washer was still there. I just can't believe it is leaking.
I change my oil.

I guess i should just break down and get the fumoto valve. ;)

If I get it and change it soon should I change my filter even though I just changed it?

Old racers trick...

Heat the copper washer with a propane torch, let it air cool. This will anneal the copper to make it soft again. This way it will seal better. You see after a while the copper will work harden from repeated use.

I guess it depends on how many miles you have on that filter. or get the Fumoto and wait till it's time to do the oil change.
