No doubt the compare feature is awesome.
JPR5690 05-27-2008, 10:41 PM so... any economy tunes running arround ?
jtaylor11 05-27-2008, 10:47 PM On the highway I seem to get the same no matter if I run a mild tune or a BIG tune. But that big tune hurts me in the city.

The best thing you can do for econmy is your rt foot. My race tune will get 27 mpg if im verry nice to it or 19 if im not. it really depends on driving habits talk to nick at duramaxtuner he can get you a good mpg tune.
JPR5690 05-31-2008, 12:35 AM Dont Wanna Buy A Tune.... I Already Bought Software.. I Have A Ppe Lev 4 Tune Im Using And I Get 13 Mpg (lifted Truck On 33's)
I Was Hopeing To Get More In The Range Of 15-20 Mpg

Unfortunetly not everything is free... I'm getting 15-22 mpg with 33's and the small tune I sent you... so I think it's probably your right foot. If I drive the hell out of my truck I still see 15-16....
JPR5690 05-31-2008, 01:17 AM No Everything Is Not Free... Either Was The Ppe Tune I Sent You.. I Had To Buy The Dam Thing, Copy It And Sell It ... And Now I Just Give It Away "for Free"
Im Just Asking Someo One Else To Chip In And Do The Same.. It Seems There Is A Vaccume Of Knoledge When It Comes To Using Hpt With Diesels.. Had I Asked This Question For The Lsx Platform Or Even The Diesel Efi Live Platform I Would Already Have 10 E-mails
capflya 05-31-2008, 02:32 AM I have nothing else to add...

JPR5690 06-02-2008, 10:07 PM Tring Out The Tune I Got.. So Far It Fairs No Better Then My Ppe Tune.... I Compared It And 99% Of The File Was Exactly The Same.. I Dont Think Lowering The Wot Stuff Is Gonna Help Mpg So Long As You Stay Off The Throttle Theres Gotta Be A Way To Make Big Numbers And Still Get Good Part Throddle Mpg
fire0021 06-02-2008, 10:22 PM Hand calc'd 27 mpg?????

CRASHNBURN 06-03-2008, 12:13 AM Yep hand calcd :D

llybyppe 06-03-2008, 12:14 AM 27mpg........ I hate you tommy:mad: I hope god strikes you down:D
llybyppe 06-03-2008, 12:19 AM Tommy just did a diesel power challenge and it is hand calculated to the T. Yes he was probabley driving the speed limit and being very easy but none the less it was proven and in the up coming issue. Sorry tommy I had to defend you. 27 mpg...... I still hate you

Which tune are you trying? is it a "big tune" ?
JPR5690 06-05-2008, 07:53 PM No Its Your 70hp Tune You Sent Me...... Its Definately A Little Slower And Theres Less Smoke When I Get On It But My Dic Says 13.1 And I Got 13.0 Before

ugh hmmm man i cant tell you any thing :D but yes it was for tht should be out in a couple months.:)

i thought you wanted an economy tune. if you are lifted like you say and are on the accelerator all the time then thats your problem. i have the same as you but 9" and 37's and get better than you do on stock parameters. i average 12.9-13 around town, 16.8 to 17.3 on the hwy hand calculated. if your worried about fuel economy then why did you go with a 6" lift and 35's, seems kind counterproductive, no?
btw, do you have a shell or tonneau cover? that would help more than a tune in the long run

Never go by the dic. check it on paper!
The dic might be close on a stock tune but it throws it off when you start changing things. I have seen it off by +5 mpg on one tune and -5 on another tune. If you are running oversize tires you better check your speedo with a gps because I would bet it is off too. on my truck it was not as simple as setting gear ratio & tire size with hpt, for 33" tires I had to set my tire size around 30" to get the speedo right
you could be getting great mileage your speedo and dic might be giving you the bad data.
JPR5690 06-07-2008, 05:17 PM Just Caus I Have A Big Truck Dosent Mean I Want To Waste Money On Fuel... I Realise It Wont Get As Good Mpg But That Shoulnd Stop Anybody From Tring To Get The Best Mpg They Can...
That Being Said.. The "economy" Tune I Was Sent Only Changed High End Fueling Paramaters And Boost, I Dont See How This Coule Even Effect Part Thorttle Mpg....
Its A Good Tune But Its No Better On Milage Than My Current Tune...
As Far As The Dic Goes Yes Its True It May Not Be Correct But Im Really More Concerned With Seeing An Improvement Than What My Actual Mpg Is....
The Way I See It Is Whatever The Number Is, It Is... But IF I Can Take That Number And Improve Upon It Great! If Not Whats The Difference Its Not Like Im Gonna Stop Driving My Truck Because I Hand Calced And Found Out Im Getting Less Or More Mpg Than The Dic Says...
JPR5690 06-07-2008, 05:21 PM Does Anybody Know What Tables Effect Part Throttle Fueling Or Have Some Sort Of Guide On How To Adjust Part Throttle Fueling..
I Dont See Much Of A Way To Improve Mpg Over Stock Besides Mabye Adding A Little More Boost (thorugh Vane Position)
Or Messing With Dfco Setting (if Diesels Even Have This)
Im Open To Any Ideas...
Btw Guys I Mostly Drive Slow, Im Definately Not Raceing A Dam Truck When I Got A 700hp T\a In The Garage
capflya 07-06-2008, 03:00 AM JPR5690 I have a new tune for ya to try... make sure you adjust your tire size from what I have it set at....
JPR5690 07-09-2008, 10:58 PM Ok Cool, Whats It About?
This Still A Economy Tune?
capflya 07-10-2008, 02:42 AM just trying some stuff out... got a lot better mileage than I have been... still working on learning my tuning. A lil timing, a lil fuel, and some boost. not "economy" but I got better mileage than I have with the stock tune...
