I put it off as long as I could. Put the truck in today for rough idle while in gear. I had it looked at before and was told some of the injuectors did not look good but the truck was running fine. The idle got worse so I made the appointment. I asked them to make sure parts were on hand before I brought it in. Sure you bet, we have them in stock. I just checked with them. The passenger side is torn down and they are now looking for enough injectors for the job. I guess the good thing is that they are changing all of them. They said it should be done Friday morning. We shall see.

Good deal. How many miles on the truck and do you filter/additive?

I use FPPF or Power Service. No filter yet. Next on the list. 41,000 miles.

You know, it is a real shame that you have to spend hard earned dollars by adding an additional fuel filter to try and prevent a problem that should not have happened for 200,000 miles if they had engineered this issue properly in the first place. And, your injectors failed in spite of having used an additive which added to your per mile cost of operation of the vehicle. On top of this, you have the inconvenience of being without your vehicle that only adds to the indignation of your purchase.

Believe me I have thought about all of this. Still love the truck though. Well put.

So don't buy additional filtration. No one has proved that it would prevent these injector problems anyways. GM stepped up to the plate with 200K warranty. Stop worrying so much and enjoy your truck.

Problem is that some guys still have injector problems using additional filtration
Seems to be hit & miss........

I have plate blocking my EGR so the exhaust doesn't recirculate through the motor. Not applicable on Feder emission LB7's.

i think no mattter what you buy..its gonna break..these car companies have to keep their service guys in business..its all part of it..even if its a warranty job...they just write it off...its just business...later

As much money as GM is spending on injectors, if extra filtration would fix the problem, they would have added it by now. Might have some effect, but it isn't the major factor in the failures.

They did improve the stock filtration with the new OEM filter. I think extra filtration is needed.

If this helps any, I did not have any injector probs. till 215K on my 02. I did however install additional filter between in-bed tank and OEM filter.

They did improve the stock filtration with the new OEM filter. I think extra filtration is needed.I thought all they did was increase the size, then went to one size fits all, not the filtration effectiveness.

I thought all they did was increase the size, then went to one size fits all, not the filtration effectiveness. The new style filter is double pleated. Almost like a filter inside a filter. Somewhere on here there are pictures.
