The other day I went to the dealership and asked the techs a ?. told them the problem I was having. The security light would come on on the dash and I would get the same 4 codes I keep getting. Doesn't keep me from driving, but it keeps the banks programmer from working right. And who knows what else. They told me it was either a battery going bad or the ignition switch. Well, I let my Best friend use the truck to go to work today and it died on him on the way. He tried to start it and it wouldn't start. As soon as it would kick over like it started, it would die again.The same light came on. Finally it started after 5 minutes or so of sitting. The code I got this time was P1626 I checked the contacts of the batteries. They are clean. Went to autoblow, and had both batteries checked. According to them, they are fine. So, that leaves me with the Ignition Switch. Anybody know of anything else it could be. I REALLY need to get this fixed soon.TIA

I replaced the Ignition Switch this afternoon. Hope that will fix it. If not, does anyone have any suggestions on what else it could be?

Ignition switches for dtc p1626 are common., lets see if it comes back before we get all worried...the "u" may be a concern though...lets see what if any come back first before we worry about them

I keep getting the P1626 also. But in my case, the truck won't start! It never did this before untill I got it back from the Stealership. I brought it in the replace the instrument panel(stepper motors) and after that, sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. I have remote start, and it starts every time with that. Dealership wants to change the BCM(body control module) on a GUESS. But it will still cost me $417 bucks, on a GUESS! Those BASTAGES! Does anyone know if I can change the BCM myself, or does it have to be programed for my truck at the dealer? Thanks
