Thanks! It's been a while since I've had a sports car so I am having a hay-day with it. U oughta see the confused look on the spoiled hi-school kids face when I lit up his brand-new Mustang GT off the stop light.

A real fun ride. Looks great. I hope sales do better than the GTO.

I think they should. I wanted a GTO in the worst way but it wasn't feasable as the back-seats were useless and having a couple of kids.. I think they've captured a market for people who want a fast family sedan, that's close to 400hp and is under 31k and is close to 30mpgs on the hwy.

Congratulations on the purchase - proudly engineered in my home town (Melbourne Australia) and made across our state boarder in the city of Adelaide.

BTW, to purchase one of these from our local dealer we are looking around $55K. With the Aussie to US dollar conversion it comes in around $52K. I think I'm being ripped!

Cheers
Cindy

Wow! That's alot of money for the same car. Is the Australian version a Holden? A good friend of mine who is the svc manager at the local dealership has EFI live - which he says he can tune my car with. Do u know what exactley the tuning is gonna do? How much horsepower can I look to gain? Fuel mileage?

Your right it's Holden out here.

Gas is very different to diesel in terms of performance gains. You will only get a handful of additional HP on stock parts, but you should gain a couple of MPG.

Cheers

I'm not a car fan but that looks like one fun car :D. I can imagine the looks from the GT owner. Kinda like the looks we get when our trucks take one down .

Been there before that with my Duramaxes.. Yep its that same look! Ya I am a truck fan too. I traded an Avalanche for it and I dont miss the $105 a week gas bill. $55 bucks and this puppy is full and it goes further on a tank of gas. Not to mention, its the size of a Honda Accord and its packing a 364ci 6.0 V8 and gives hi-20's on the mpgs.

Friday, the dealership (that's right the dealership) is gona run an EFI live tune on it and do a magnaflow exhaust. Should put it right at 400hp.

Liked your G8 so much, decided to pull one to drive for a few weeks.

Currently in a white model, loaded. It does pull well. Like the sport shift mode, over the manual and the auto mode. Miss XM radio, but can live with the tire chirping.

Will break out my vericom and see what I can do in the 1/4 mile with it.

So far first weekend is a blast.

It's definitely a fun car to drive and not too mention pretty easy on the MPG's for a pretty big size V8. The cost of the V8 vs the V6 is a no-brainer, not to mention there isn't too bad of a difference in mpgs between such a big engine difference. However, like any vehicle, you keep the foot down, she'll drink some gas! I don't think you can get a 4-door family sedan (currently on the market) for under 50k that will keep up with it in performance/power/speed.
etc.

GM did price this thing very fair. I assume the dealership isn't giving too much wiggle room on the price are they?
