We are all seeing posts w/ people looking for what modifications they can make for power, mpg’s, etc.

Something like this needs to be in the stickies.

You are in a love hate relationship w/ your 6.5. You are unsatisfied w/ your trucks power. Here is what you need to do in order of least expensive to most expensive w/ some non-performance required additions. (not necessarily in this order this is just and example).

1. Open up your air intake by removing the snorkel if you have a 97 or older 6.5.
2. Add a high flow air filter/cold air intake.
3. Open up your exhaust. The more expensive option is a new exhaust w/ down pipe and cross over. The least expensive is to remove muffler and soot trap (Cat) and weld a piece of pipe in its place.
4. a) Install a boost gauge.
b) Buy or build your own turbo master/wastegate controller.
5.
6.
7.

This is just a guideline. I know some of the info is already in various sticky threads but I thought it would be a good idea to have something labeled specifically for those looking to make mods.

Bring it on! We'll stick in the FAQ's. The only reason I stuck the MPG thread up there in the stickies was because with fuel at $5.00/gal, everyone is upping their MPG, and every other thread seems to be starting threads within hours of each other on the topic.

Good stuff though. The invitation is open to everyone. If you build it, they will... read.

Right now, I have:

Warpspeed 4" exhaust, x-over not installed.
Boost and EGT gauges, not installed.

What I need to buy:

A little "thingy" for a vac. turbomaster (more on this later, thanks to WhiteK2500 fer the idear)
Heath Chip
Heath/Snow WMI system (might be a long time for this one)
Heath HO injectors
New fan and clutch

Need to fabricate:

Airbox for a round filter

What I'll have when I'm done:

Close to 180-200 RWHP, 400-430 Ft-Lbs of torque, 18-20 MPG. Just a wee bit less horsepower, a ton more torque, and twice the fuel milage of an equal 350.
