let me know what you guys think.........!
SuperTuscan 02-16-2005, 03:55 PM Is that an Ohio plate?
Cowracer 02-16-2005, 04:20 PM Sweet!
Man, that thing needs the chrome grill (nose) that you sell. I gotta get one soon!
Tim
dmitch 02-16-2005, 07:33 PM Nice Job Mr. Tailight, looks great. Have fun in Daytona!
Thats a beauty ! I have to admit liking the big GMC badge up front, it just looks better - has nothing to do with the actual letters.
I do agree with a previous post, however - now that everything is so sharp and you have that cool hood, you may need to spice up that grill area . . .
Have a blast in Daytona!! I was set to drag my trailer with 5-6 bikes (never did fit-up) down there but didn't get enough buy-in.:( Don't feel much like riding down there this year.
kl8ton 02-17-2005, 11:44 AM 1. Sweet Truck
2. What hood is that? (Brand, cost, etc)?
3. What suspension lift do you have, how high is it, how do you like it?
4. What size tires are you running?
steiner43511 02-17-2005, 12:41 PM i dont think he has a lift and those tires look to be around 31" or 265/75's.
MrTailLight 02-17-2005, 07:39 PM thanks guys, i finally made it down here to daytona, took about 14 hours from ohio. i was suprised to find i got 619 miles out of a tank of fuel after a few simple mods. i used to only get 540 miles max out of a full tank being 100% stock.
i was able to drive it on the beach today, and a i took a few more pics....better than the pics with snow in them! LOL
kl8ton, 2; the hood a a steel "gordon" hood, i hope admid does not get mad for me telling a price, but it is about $250 new in the box. 3;all stock lift....though about 4" suspension next week? not sure if i want to make the move yet? 4; not sure? i would have to go look. they are 16" rims E rated BF Goodrich.
BobT, i just took off the all chrome GMC grill....i only had it on there for about 5 months, i thought the black grill just looks so much better, only cuz their is not much other chrome/alum on the truck other than bumpers, wheels, and nerf bars. the all chorme grills look SWEET, dont get me wrong....just not on this ride. (my $.02)
SuperTuscan, yes i am from Ohio....just north of columbus by an hour.
here is a few more pics of the burban by and in the ocean! ( i may need to resize them later?)

quantum mechanic 02-17-2005, 07:50 PM Be aware the rearaxle ubolt perch is made to catch sea sand and rust out your ubolts. I replaced them on a beach going '94 K3500 CC along with patching rust holes through the front boxed portion of the frame by welding plate over them.
MrTailLight 02-17-2005, 08:00 PM thanks for the heads up! i never take it off road, and when i took the pics i was able to not splash water on anything but the tires. i was lucky as the entire project had little rust.
DieselPro 02-17-2005, 08:04 PM I like it, and I'm hard to please. I'd loose the tint on the front glass if it were mine. Who you for in the race?
MrTailLight 02-17-2005, 08:44 PM my boy is rooting for #88!
DieselPro 02-17-2005, 08:55 PM I like Jarrett and he has one of the best engine builders out there but his team has been plagued with bad decision making. Suspect that will be his downfall in the race. Look for the teams with the best heads on there shoulders to win this race. Nascar has got them all bunched up and only the fit will stand out. The purse has gotten so high that an "anything goes" approach will determine the outcome in the final laps where sportsmanship will go out the window, or should I say net.
What does dead last pay? 219 thousand?
MrTailLight 02-17-2005, 08:58 PM i have to agree! i never liked the way #3 raced (dont take offence diehard chevy fans) i just thought it was dirty racing. i you cant win by playing the rules, then dont play. thats what we were taught since we were kids.
their are alot of honest drivers out there, and i under stand rubbing is racing, but be realistic with it as well.
i have always been a rusty wallace & dale jarret fan, i guess it is the Ford lover in me! LOL
bowtie 02-17-2005, 10:32 PM Sorry Taillight but those were the rules, and if I can affect your car by being close to you then you lose I guess. I also believe what comes around goes around so if you live by the sword you might die by it too, I guess. :offtopic:
:cool2: NICE burban there, I wouldn't change a thing cept the ride height, too close to the ground for me. I like the front end look and the whole concept myself. I would like to know more bout your hood, like where I can get one at. You can email or PM me if you'd like on that .
Enjoy your time there. :cool2:
Oh BTW I love my Impala SS grill I got last year too. Looks good on my 9C1.
MrTailLight 02-17-2005, 10:38 PM yea, those are the rules alright. i guess its all how you look at it.
i was thinking of going with a 4" lift and maybe some 33's, might wind up being a 6" ??? i use the burban for towing in the summer, so i dont want to mess that up by going to high and screwing up the towing ability
glad you like the grill for the chevy!
Firefighter 02-18-2005, 11:08 AM Looks great! Tastefull and hot at the same time, not often you don't see a rig that isn't a bit overdone IMO. Ever considered a front bumper with the dual billet grills and spots for driving lights? I think that would be the icing on the cake for the hot burb!:ro)
MrTailLight 02-18-2005, 11:01 PM your reading my mind! i already ordered one with the insert, and dual driving lights. i thought the bumper with the billit insert would make a great place to install an intercooler and have a half eash way to plumb it. this way i can get a LONG one and it not block any other cooling devices. :exactly:
bowtie 02-18-2005, 11:08 PM well I like it just like it is
bowtie65 02-19-2005, 08:37 AM mr. taillight, sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!! !!!! looks awesome!
bowtie 02-19-2005, 10:09 AM As I said I like it now BUT if you want to change things why don't you start with that hood. take it off throw it, nicely, in the scrap pile out back and I'll come by and pick up your scraps. :joke: :funnypost
MrTailLight 02-21-2005, 11:05 PM i got alot of PM's on this hood i have. is this something that is hard to find for the 88-98 C/K's ???
quantum mechanic 02-22-2005, 09:18 AM No, JC whitney has them for $800. We just like yours.
bowtie 02-22-2005, 09:22 AM And like that price too.
Diesel Grinch 02-22-2005, 12:10 PM i was suprised to find i got 619 miles out of a tank of fuel after a few simple mods. i used to only get 540 miles max out of a full tank being 100% stock.
Nice Burb. Which of the mods do you think made the difference? How does the 4" exhaust fit? I only see the 3.5" for sale? Custom?
MrTailLight 02-28-2005, 08:21 AM Diesel Grinch,
well on the trip home i got 650 miles out of the same tank of fuel!! :ro)
i think the exhaust had the biggest difference. it is 3.5 out of the turbo, and under the passengers front seat, it turns into 4" and runs into a 6" muffler. i turned it backwards so the "muffler cups" inside the muffler did not catch and drag down the exhaust pressure. the exhaust fit 100%! not a single mod had to be made, it went right in.
Diesel Grinch 02-28-2005, 08:45 AM When it comes out of the muffer is it still 6"?
quantum mechanic 02-28-2005, 10:00 AM ssdiesel supply sells 4" systems, 4" dp and 2.5" crossovers and 4" cat backs too. Look on ebay
MrTailLight 02-28-2005, 12:25 PM good question! i should have corrected myself.
the muffler is 6" and the in/out pipe from the muffler is 4", and the pipe is 4" all the way out. it sounds beyond awesome when it drives by you! i think it was the best $300 i could have spent on the truck.
SnowDrift 02-28-2005, 12:41 PM Mr TailLight,
Is that Anthony Bush's old Burb? His 6.5 was for sale a while back and I wondered who got it. Any chance it was you?
Looks good - I wouldn't lift if more than about 2 inches, though.
SnowDrift
MrTailLight 02-28-2005, 12:43 PM yes snowdrift, this is Bush's truck. i traded him my flamed show truck for it.
i have a few more pics of it on the beach....should be able to see these ones! LOL

Juancho 02-28-2005, 01:06 PM I hope you washed off all that salt real good after playing in the ocean. :-)
SnowDrift 02-28-2005, 01:19 PM I thought it may have been. Glad to see it found a good home!
SnowDrift
MrTailLight 02-28-2005, 04:19 PM i only let the tires get wet! i was not about to let it get stuck in there, or let any of the water get anywhere on the body.
hey snowdrift, where ya from? how do you know anthony? just wondering.
SnowDrift 03-01-2005, 07:43 AM Mr TailLight,
I don't really know him personally, I just know of him. He or his brother bought that orange 350 diesel c10 truck about 10? years back off my dad. Anthony had his Burban sitting out there on rt. 95 for a while and I saw it several times. Been by his farm many a time, too and I dated Niki Streib many years ago (Larry's oldest daughter). I figure you know Larry, since his house and shop are just a couple miles south of your place there. I'm outside Caledonia.
SnowDrift
MrTailLight 03-01-2005, 07:52 AM talk about a small world! yea, i know Larry also.
i have to say my biggest dissapointment about Caledonia is the wet spot burning down. that was my "get away" place  that town is a nice small town america kinda place. the guy that owns the caledonia cafe goes to crums mud run alot.
nice meeting you in here :Handshake
SnowDrift 03-01-2005, 11:26 AM Definitely a small world and it's good to meet you, as well. Pretty strange that two guys that are only a few miles apart meet on a global web forum:D
SnowDrift
quantum mechanic 03-01-2005, 01:55 PM I guess you guys were ment to meet but not face to face at first, just here virtully.
MrTailLight 03-01-2005, 08:40 PM maybe so, and yet we are only about 10 minutes away from each other!
