I need to locate an 08, my plans for ordering an 09 have been thwarted and my 08 order has been converted to an 09, so I MUST locate an 08 that matches my requirements someplace in the USA.

I know the dealers have access to an awesome locator, I'd really like 24hrs of access to that to find what I need, but if someone has another way, please let me know.

Go to your local dealership. I wanted a cetain color and package and they found 3 in the US. One lil over 500 miles. They tried for a few day to trade with that dealership....but.....that didnt work so I drove up there and got it myself. But none of them trucks was not on Chevy`s website. Just go tell them what and what you dont want, write down where they are and if they cant get them in........take matters in your own hands.:D

Agreed with the above statement but since I dont know where you are located I have a friend here in Colorado working at a GMC dealership and he would likely be able to help as he is a truck fleet person

I've done this, they can't dealer trade for it, the dealership that had the truck wasn't interested. Instead of going to my local dealership and making them work on it more, I just called the place that had the truck and am buying it from the directly. It has about $1K more options than I wanted, and it's black, but it'll get the job done I think. Thanks for the replies.

I just did this as my Vegas dealership did a 500 mile search and came up with squat. So this is what I did I went to the GM build vehicle page ,did the build.Came to the part that said to look for dealership and used the zip code portion of this.Did a search and found a free page of Zips for anywhere n the us in fact it had a map that you followed and got the zip for major cities etc.Just went through places that I knew were populated and thought would have trucks and found several,it takes time but well worth the effort. If a dealer trades with someone you are most likely going to pick up the tab for him-easier to cut the middle man. Good Luck

Jim is right — go to the Chevrolet web site and use the vehicle locator. As an alternative, I sometimes use the dealer locator and then check inventory. This is something that you don't need to talk to the dealer about ‚ DIY.

Well, what did you do?

I went with the one at rice buick pontiac gmc in knoxville. Black on black, 1k in extra options I don't care about, but it's a done deal. They really have been good so far, they had it line-x'd for me and are going to pick me up at the airport. We'll see once I get there, but so far so good.
