How do i make it sound like my truck got a cam?

Get a bigger cam?

I don't think you want it to be like that dude. It'll be rough at stop lights and you'll have to pretty much have the brakes to the floor to stop it from moving all the time. Also, lots of guys say that the bass from the exhaust when it surges is really annoying.

But in any sense, upping fuel pressure at idle will do it. Advancing timing a bit will make it idle a bit rougher. Adding more pulse width at idle. Also, opening the turbo vanes will make it sound deeper with no turbo hiss.

I can't get my LMM to do this anybody else had any sucess? Maybe it's to smart or we are lacking some tables.

to get the lope, all you have to do is get the ECM to comand more fuel than it takes to achieve the comanded idle RPM. When it idles above that comanded RPM the ECM chops fuel delivery untill the RPM falls below the comanded RPM at which point it fuels more than needed again pushing idle speed above comanded and causing the ECM to chop fuel again. So anything you do to increase fuel delivery at idle will do it. More fuel pressure, longer pulse width, or both. This is my understanding anyways...

they just released some new tables for LMM, I have not tried the loping idle yet but I am able to get some fuel down low finaly :D big smoker out of the hole I don't remember the pid #'s but the tables are in the pulse width column in the tuning tool. There's a commanded fuel ratio table in Lambda- it's fuel in grams of air per cylinder, it work's great for getting some fuel down low finaly without really dicking the pulse width table, its just like the old MAF tables for LB7 & LLY just bosch's way of doing it

If you go to your throttle base injection qauntity table and at 600 rpm at 0 TPS give it about 35mm3 it will give you a lope. You may need more or less but there is where mine runs at. This is where the dsp5 comes in handy.

He has an LBZ. That only works on the LB7/LLYs with that table available.

I've accidently gotten an LBZ to lope when monkeying with the torque fuel limit RPM conversion table but it was out of control.

mmmm if you set the pulse width to 350us on an LLY or LBZ you will be lucky if it even idles at all...

I have mine tuned to lope on my pulling tune on my dsp5 switch. Love it and it really gets the attention. People think its just the coolest thing haha. If you change it with the throttle base injection quantity, 50 or 55 will make her lope pretty good, enough to rock the truck ;)

Will putting a lbz cp3 on a lb7 make the truck idle rougher?

And others want to just stuff a pair of socks in their jeans.:D

That's why you ONLY use it on a DSP switch so you can turn it on/off.;)

My truck had this PROBLEM, not on purpose but a tune I tried seemed to idle rough and sounded cammed. Sucked at lights and trying to move a trailer in tight spots!!!! Smooth idling is where its at!!! IMO

I read this thread and just shake my head because I remember all the chatter and smack on the boards in 2002 when people were storming the dealers and demanding buybacks for the "lopey idle" problem with the LB7.

Life- stranger than fiction.
