Hey everyone I am going to the dealer tomorrow morning to have my turn signal problem fixed and I told them to also lube the intermediate steering shaft while its there. They have a whole new one on order but are just lubing it for now, they will replace it when they get it. Is there anything else I should ask them to do while its in there? I was thinking about asking for the new and improved tailgate straps and I was thinking about a reflash. Service manager says hes seen a lot of reflashes backfire so he doesnt recommend. Besides the reflash does anyone have anything to suggest. Appreciate it:Nothing_f

Which Northern Cali dealer are you going to?

I bought my truck at Victory Chevrolet in Petaluma but havent been happy with them since day 1. Im bringing the truck into Santa Rosa Chevrolet. Ive never dealt with them before but I went in and met with the service manager and he was incredibly understanding, professional, cordial, and it seemed as if he was more my type of businessman. He was interested in my best interests and helping me get what I wanted as opposed to trying to get me in and out of there real quick and getting as much out of my wallet as possible. Where in Norcal are you? who do you go to?

Live in Sacramento area. When I was looking to buy, the Sacramento dealers were holding onto the DMaxs like gold coins and they were not dealing. Just by chance, I found a pretty good deal at Chase Chevrolet in Stockton. But with dealership 45 miles away, it was just too far away for me to go back for warranty service. My warranty problem is with the AC. I'm just hoping the repairs are still holding together when the warmer temps come around. I was just curious which Nor-Cal dealer you were going to as I am looking for a good dealership that is a little closer that has a knowledgeable diesel service department. I think you have cover all the bases on your upcoming service visit.:)

Jake .... The air conditioning TSB to replace the accumulator which will allow the unit to cool better. There are several threads on this.

Also, I think JJ has a poll that indicated most folks thought the reflash was in improvement (me included).

Re-flash for what model years? I just bought a new '05 3 weeks ago, is the re-flash something I should be thinking about? What does it improve?

Information on the reflash can be found at http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18511&highlight=Surge

The re-flash addresses (among other things) a surge or rough idle at stops. I beleive it came out Oct/Nov 04 time frame. Not sure if it applies to 05s - probably depends on when your truck was built.

Sledman .... The reflash came out around 9/10/04 and is for LLY engine trucks that are 2004.5 models and early 2005 models. Other postings indicate that the new calibration was included in 2005 production on truck deliveries starting around the end of October, 2004. If your 2005 LLY was made in Nov 2004 or after, you probably have the new program.

The link above from KBK includes the TSB. It is version B and is dated 10/21/04. I do not know if this is just a change to the wording in the TSB, or if there was also a program change to the 9/10/04 release of the calibration. Maybe one of the Techs can respond.
