: 100,000 warranty....???
k2rider 02-15-2005, 11:02 PM Is the Duramax engine covered automatically by a 100,000 warranty? Or is that something extra you pay for when you initially buy the truck from a dealer.
I'm thinking about buying a 2004 Duramax from a dealer in Texas (I'm in So Cal), it only has 22K miles on it. The dealer offers several "extended" warranties like any other dealer. The main issue I'm concerned about would be the engine.... injectors, flywheel, etc....all the stuff I read about on here. I need to know if I'm covered because I don't want to spend 2K for a warranty....
Thanks....
Yes the Dmax has a 100k mile warranty.

diesel66 02-16-2005, 10:40 AM So if the turbo takes a dive after 3/36, you're screwed?
Cobra#3747 02-16-2005, 11:39 AM For the most part anything that has to do with the engine directly is covered till 100k. Yes the turbo is included in the 100k
Duramax Dually 02-16-2005, 12:23 PM And some of us lucky ones get the 200K mil warranty deal......:rockit:
RickDLance 02-16-2005, 01:05 PM I thought the 200K was only on the injecters.
JEBar 02-16-2005, 01:16 PM I thought the 200K was only on the injecters.

Cobra#3747 02-16-2005, 02:35 PM Really? unhooking the actuator isnt warranty? lol
Victory Red 02-16-2005, 08:03 PM I'm glad to have guys like you around Cobra since I've got a small coolant leak and since gaskets are covered I'm hoping that's what it is.
I've had a small coolant drop for a while now, I tightened up a clamp near the bottom of the pump but after just changing the oil the drips are back again. Anyhow I'm just over 38k and heading to FL in two days for a week so when i get back I'll be in the low 40's, but it looks like i may yet still be covered.
arguy 02-16-2005, 08:54 PM according to my letter from GM, injectors only is correct
Jim
MMMMM  MM That's funny, they replaces a bunch more than my injectors and I do believe the pump is now included if it fails the tests.....
That is for those of us that have one of those "old" LB7's :ro)
dieseldan723 02-17-2005, 01:37 AM Is the Allison tranny covered too under this 100K warranty.
Cobra#3747 02-17-2005, 07:18 AM Allison is 36k
Time2Tow 02-18-2005, 01:48 PM I just bought a GM Major gaurd extended warranty for my 02 duramax which has 24,000 on it. It cost me 1525.00 for an additional 4 years and 48,000 miles. For some drivers if you spann that cost over the 4 years it is cheap insurance. How much is a Allison repair ???Plus for a $50.00 transfer fee this can be put in the next owners name if you deciede to resell. Some thing to think about.

What 200kmi warranty deal??
Victory Red 04-04-2005, 06:57 AM What 200kmi warranty deal??
01 and 02 owners received letters that extended out the warranty to 7yr/200,000 miles on the injectors, since it seems the first two years were the most problematic. However, my 03 and some 04's have had issues, I've had mine replaced at 25,000(now at 44,000 and still going). I don't know if my warranty will get extended or not or if it's a case by case decision for the 03's and up.
