my trans has been throwing itself in neutral when i go wot in big mode more frequently lately and i'm curious if anyone else had a problem like this. it first happened with my stock trans last summer running a mild tune, then the ats trans went in and it did it maybe 3 times before the A5K went on and now it throws itself into neutral almost everytime i floor it when it tries to do the 3-4 shift i believe.

since it happened with the stock trans also i'm assuming its not the transmission itself giving up. maybe the tcm program? from the stickers on the back of my tcm it appears that it was updated w/ an 03 file at the dealership at sometime before i owned the truck.

and everytime it does it there are no codes and i just put the gear selector into neutral and back to drive then it's just fine and i can drive around just like normal until i go wot again then it will throw itself into neutral. it does it in both regular D and with tow/haul mode on.

Does the shift lever itself actualy move into nuetral? If so it could be a broken motor mount or trans mount. If not, then I would suspect something wrong in the trans harness like exposed wires touching under torque movement of the geartrain.

the shift lever stays in ''D'', i have to take it out of "D" and go to "N" then back to "D" to get the truck to resume shifting.

well i've been at work all day but NLDP and Racehemi got a chance to look at my truck for me. it appears the something there is a loss of communication with the trasmission somewhere.

Check the battery cable at the starter. It may appear to be tight but it may just be loose enough to be touching smaller wire on starter on acceleration and then lift off again when engine settles. Disconnect both batterys and retighten the battery cable on the starter and see what happens.
