Hello All,
I have a heat echanger I want to use for my 82 Blazer, for using WVO. My engine has a 190 deg thermostat and the heat exchanger connects to the heater hose out of the engine. Will the IP be O.K. with fuel that temp?
I also have line heaters I need to install.
Thanks much,
Art

Well, I'm guessing your fuel temp at the IP inlet is somewhat lower, more like 160 degrees. Quite a few people run IPs that hot. How proven it is I don't know...

It doesn't matter what the fuel temp is at the IP. You want it hot at the injectors, because that is where the restriction is and the cause of the pressure.
I have been running up to 10% vegetable oil as much as possible over the last 2 years and every thing still works great.
I have a new source of vegetable oil so I will try bumping it uup to 20% for the summer, no mods other then filtration.
Hello and thanks for the input on the temp.
I filled up today on wvo and took a 40 mile trip and all went well. Ran much better and had more power. I am sure this has to do more with the thicker veg oil in an old IP than anything else. I have a heat exchanger before the filter, and plan to install line heaters I already have next week. Tommorow I will get to put a little over 100 miles on it, the church building is a hour away.
Thanks,
