I have a few questions. One I want to put 5 in exaust straight pipe on my 6.5. Do these engines requre back pressure. I know on my semi it doesnt. Also I was talking to a dodge guy with a cummins. His turbo sounded sweet. He said he pulled some kind of silencer out of it. Do these turbos have the same thing. If so how do you pull out. I can not hear my turbo at all. I know it works cause I feel the surge after a second of flooring it. The only thing I know wrong with truck is a turbo sensor acccording to my code reader. Seems like when the check engine light comes on it has more power. I also cant seem to find a controller for these. Do they even make one? Lastly can u turn up the pump or is it all electronisly controlled? Any answers to any questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks BUZZ:D

5" is over kill, 4" is more than enough
Turbo muffler is the long plastic tube attached to the air intake elbow/boot, make sure you plug it after you take it off
Search Turbo master.......manual wastegate controller
Search feed the beast mod. Can't turn it up, change PMD resistor is the closest thing, but it won't make much difference,........Reflash computer for best results.
check the stickeys............ all the info is in there plus more.
Welcome to the Place.

i've seen the turob muffler removed and a frost plug used to block it off. just make sure its secure and cannot be "sucked" into the intake as bad and expensive things can happen. 5 inch is very much listed in the overkill area. i'd say find yourself a 3 inch mandrel bent downpipe, a 2.5 inch crossover(warpspeed has one), the crossover gaskets and the stud kit(not required but its nice in case you snap a bolt that holds the factory crossover in place). after you install those parts i'd say look into a 4 inch straight pipe. you can get an entire aftermarket exhaust from heath diesel, (http://www.heathdiesel.com/T/Chevy-GM/Chevy-9601/Exhaust-Systems-Components/) ssdiesel, kennedy diesel (http://www.kennedydiesel.com/), or you can make your own.

before you get a turbomaster or make your own wastegate controller get gauges. Boost and EGT gauges are really helpful. i've got my turbomaster set to 12-13 psi as i don't have an intercooler(yet) max sustained boost with the stock compression ratio of ~22:21 is 15 psi. any more and you risk blowing headgaskets or worse. max EGTs you want to see is 1250 degrees F. any more and you run the risk melting things(like parts in your turbo for example).

EDIT: just noticed 1,000 posts. what do i win?:p::D

stock computer wont allow 12-13 psi. 9 is the most it should ever see without modifying the fuel rate VIA a reflashed computer.
