i just bought an 05 Duramax with 33,000 miles and want to start moding it.this is my daily driver so fuel economy, and reliability is important. i was going to start with a 4'' turbo back, and banks ram air intake, i want to do a chip and thats where my questions start. i don't want to start building my tranny yet so i was wondering what it can handle in stock form. i was looking into efi live and the banks otto mind.but am unsure of the whole tune it your self thing. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Put it on 110hp and compare the mpg to your stock mpg. The power is the bonus-the problem is to not rod the sh-t out of it and burn big fuel. For $400 it's worth a look. Good luck...

The advantage of EFILive is that you can make as much or as little power as you need. So today without a built transmission you can use a safe tow tune, and as you upgrade your parts you can make tunes and power to suit. This has advantages for your wallet too - you are only making a single purchase and it can tune multiple vehicles.

go with EFI Live its something you will have for ever and never have to replace due to other mods you do to your truck. i have it and love it. just filled up the other day and hand calulated i got 19.5 mpg mostly city driving. good luck tho
