I have a 1989 GMC Suburban 6.2 and I need help identifying a melted sensor.
It is located on the rear of the valve cover on the pasenger side.
We were having problems with it dying - not starting - blowing fuses. My husband discovered that the fuel was leaking from the fuel heater and it dripped on this sensor which caused a short.
He finally got the leak fixed and now we need to figure out what this sensor is. It has 2 prongs.
It seems to be running fine now but I know that that sensor must be replaced.

What will happen if it is not replaced right away ?

Just to let you all know this was a cold advance temp switch - went to dealer and bugged them all till they got the mechanic to tell us what it was. Cost was $32.00. ;) ~~~~~~~Vickie
