Just wondering who has full size aftermarket spares underneath?? I was thinking of putting a 285/65/18 as the same size I run, but it looks like it would be too close to the exhaust pipe and it would just get too hot and get wasted. I saw a huge lifted truck fly by me the other day with a huge spare underneath, but I have a feeling his exhaust was rerouted. I didn't even notice. I was too bust staring at the truck. I was thinkink of either wrapping the pipe with something or maybe welding on a heat shield??? Any ideas on this??

I'm running 285/75 R16 and a full size spare (on factory rim) in the factory location. This size works fine with the factory exhaust, but when I put my MBRP system on I had to put some heat shields.

I run a 255/85/16 on the stock spare wheel, tucks up there just like the stock 245/75/16 and matches the diameter of my 295/70/17's pretty close.

Swell link, has nothing to do with the original posters question about "SPARE TIRE" size fitment.

Full size spare underneath mine, with stock exhaust.

I used a little cable lock that goes around the frame just in case its too heavy for the stock spare tire equipment.
