Just got a new-to-me '05 LLY. When I leave the house in the morning (engine cold) for about the first 5 minutes, I get a bog/hesitation when I hit the go peddle. I live in a neighborhood so I notice it when I roll through the stop signs (or full stop if there are cops around:)) and I drive like a grandma so I am not mashing it what so ever. Only seems to be an issue when the truck is cold. After it is warm, it goes like stink. Any ideas?

TIA

Mine has done that since it was new. Completely normal. They don't perform to their fullest potential until after they have warmed up.

Seem to recall a reflash was available for that problem .

I have had a 2004.5 since 4700 miles and have commented about this issue to the local dealer on two occasions. At least one time they reflashed the pcm but said they could not recreate the concern. The reflashing has not corrected the issue for me. It is a drive-by-wire system (no throttle cable) and there is a "disconnected" feel especially on those rolling stops until the truck gets warm. It is as if the mechanism, be that mechanical or electronic, which opens the throttle is slow to react to the input from the pedal. I'd be curious to hear more about the lift pump that "jimburr" referred to.

Mine surges a little when I'm trying to drive slowly out of the neighborhood first thing in the morning. When it warms up, it doesn't do it anymore.
