Why? If its for an auto starter it shouldn't be necessary. My starter is programable for the delay. I have it set at 7 seconds. The installer had set it to 45 seconds but that was way too long for my LLY.

Behind the instrument panel is a plug. On the plug is a blue wire, this is your wait to start.

It is in position #2 on the bottom row next to the brown/white.

If you need a tach wire, it is in postion #5 same row and is white.

Call me crazy but I like it when my DMax tells the starter when its time to start not the starter telling the DMax its time to start.

Thanks HD_NATE

On below zero days I dont think mine waits for the light to go off befor it fires up and some time it has to try it again. It was option that is there so I will give it try and see if it works. Thanks again,

I see what you are saying but is 7 seconds too much to wait. The light never lasts for more than a second on my truck. A few seconds afterward isn't about to make a difference. To each there own. I just like to keep it simple. I have never had my truck not start on the first try, at least that I have noticed anyways. I have never plugged her in and its gotten pretty cold here (Buffalo).

I have mine set on it longest delay I think and I have seen it start while the light is still on. Mine is design tech I bought it two years ago and just got around to putting it in. The only reason why I chose desing tech was that it used you OEM remote. I should of bought a astro start.

Which model of the Designtech allows you to use your OEM remote?

YES....sometimes 7 seconds seem like a half hour

After the truck warms it usually does not need the delay and will start right up.

Plus, on some very hot summer days, I will use it to cool the truck also, no need for the delay in the summer.

It will work either way, I just like it that Astro Start will monitor the truck and let it know when the truck is ready, I think thats cool as heck.
