I read the NAV install, and I am still not 100% sure, so here goes.

I have this GM Nav unit installed in my current truck, which has the Non Lux Bose system. I am selling the truck, and would like to install it in a truck that I bought that has the Non Bose system.

From what I can tell this will work, but I will need to get the PAC-AOEM-24 adapter and run an AMP to power the current speakers ?

Any other issues that I need to be aware of other than wiring the VSS wire ?

hmm....

I know you cannot run a non-LUX (standard Bose) Nav in a LUX (Escalade) system (and vice versa) with out having the radio's base programming changed (not a dealer job)

I am NOT sure about standard Bose to no Bose. I'd imagine its the same deal....the base programming has to be changed.

wheres Ben when ya need him?

I believe disconecting the amp and jumping speaker wires dirctly to tuner would work.

the non bose has a built in amp. and no provision for subwoofer. I have one for sale. I sold it on ebay thinking it was bose, but it wasnt. the door chime is extremely loud and as soon as you start turning up the volume it gets LOUD. the amp in a bose system will not survive higher input voltage from non bose TNR.

All the radios are the same internally. All the hardware is the same.

The different software programming turns the internal amp on/off and also changes the type of output depending on what configuration (standard, Bose and LUX Bose) you have.

I bought what was listed here in the DIY as non-lux bose TNR. turns out it is a non-bose TNR. works the same, just insanely loud door chime and volume control doesnt work well, too loud.

I ended up doing the whole lux upgrade, and need to get rid of this TNR now. it comes with DVD map. if interested email bikenutty at hotmail dot com.

Put this in, and it works, BUT, the volume does not get that loud. On 1-10 scale, I would say is is a 4, or 5 as compared to the original radio. At this point it seems like the factory Non bose head unit puts out more power, which kinda makes sense. I would have had to take this to the dealer to have the theftlock cleared anyways, so can they change it to a non bose unit, or am i better off just getting another nav unit ?
