I would like to know how much fluid loss to expect replacing the spin on filter for the Allison transmission. Is this as simple as just spinning it off and replacing with a new one and then replacing any lost fluid?

I lost a little under a cup. Yep. Spin off. Remove magnet. Clean magnet. Replace magnet. Spin on.

Yup. Just be sure to watch for the magnet on the filter you take off. Pre-fill the new filter with oil, then top off the trans per the owners manual.
