Truck died backing out of the driveway. Could smell diesel as I primed to get the truck fired. No mods, boxes, or tunes. Decided to change fuel filter. I had not changed the fuel filter since buying truck in late January, dealer had put new filters on. Found the WIF Sensor was VERY loose, as in hand tight only. Why would someone only tighten hand tight???
P.S. It was not the drain leaking, it was the large WIF Sensor.

Mine did the same thing the other day. When i changed the fuel filter it looked like the WIF was on crooked but it was tight so i thought it was just the o-ring sticking out a bit , but it wasn't , the dang thing came loose on me and I had to tighten it as much as I could with my hand until I got to my house to use the tool to tighten it. There I sat in the church parking lot after my buddy's wedding not knowing what happened until I noticed a drip from the WIF sensor sure enough dumped all the fuel out just had enough to back up.

I here ya Phunhawg, I could of had to use C-4 to remove it :D. When I worked at a Service station as a teen, we left out a differential check plug. The one you pull to check the oil level, and from then on the owner made us call out to him when we removed ANYTHING from a car we were serviceing. ".....Oil drain out..........Oil filter off.........New oil filter back on........Drain plug back in....." you get the drill. But for the next 9-10 months I worked there, we NEVER forgot anything.
P.S. We ran down the person with the drain plug, the other guy and I had to pay for a diff oil change out of our own pockest for the trouble we caused......lesson learned.
