I just seen a bad A** truck in the parking lot at work with a 6 inch exhaust coming out in front of the passenger rear tire so I looked under it..........
It was turbo back all 6 inch. It looked crazy. I measured the inside diameter of the pipe and it was the same all the way to the front, it was straight piped. Very nice and I think it was stainless. I want one of those!! Anyone ever seen a 6 inch exhaust for a Max? And where can I buy one??

I don't even see how that could fit in the space provided.. I thought a 5" was pushing it, but dang..

Wouldn't have to worry about racoons or possums making nests in your exhaust pipe?

I guess if you had to work on the turbo, you could just crawl into the exhaust pipe with some tools...

He must work at a fabrication shop. Still, that pipe has got to be a damn tight fit.

I think it was a five inch and you were using your rubber tape measure. I did my 5 in and Im telling you getting a six in there would be near impossible, I only stray from saying impossible because supposedly nothing is impossible. But, with the spare tire in place it is definitely impossible.

well, as you said, it was parked. did you hear it as it left? did it sound good? did you hear any rattling as it was hitting anything?

One thing we know for sure, he must have paid big $$$$ for it.

I wish people would read this and get more ideas. Stainless Big Pipes. Nice! Friend has full 5" on his Doodge with 6" tip. 4" is tooo small, 5" or bigger.

Where ever he got it, it is not stainless. No one makes anything more than 4" in stainless, due to the mandel bending. If this was a 6" ss it was custom made for him.

He probably adapted some 6 inch from a big truck.. Some have 6 inch stacks with mandrel bends in them.

Yeah but wouldn't 5" or something be awesome and have more deepening effects to it. I know it might be tad louder but I wish more companies had something more than little 4".

What brand/kind of truck was it?

Sorry it took so long to get back here but this looks like this sparked up some interest. I would also like to know how he did it and where it came from but I was in a hurry and couldn't take pictures and I never got to talk to him or even hear it start. But I know for sure, it was a new duramax and it was 6inch for sure. Maybe he bent the piping to clear the trans lines and stuff... I don't know. I'm 99% sure it was stainless. it was BAD A**!!! I'm working in the Fullerton area of southern Cali.

I have a family member that works in a shop locally that bends and chromes exaust pieces for Freightliner and Monaco Motorhomes and I have seen some pretty big stuff there, I'll have to ask him if they have 6" SS and if they bend it there. He has told me that some of the guys do custom exaust on their own rigs after hours. OOOhhhh what I would do if I had those facilities to use. :ro)

That 6" must be awesome! I'm looking at a 5" "turbo back" for my LLY. Does anyone have any sound clips of a 5" straight piped exhaust on a LLY? Thanks

it couldn't hit the spare tire if it came out in front of the rear tire.
