I've been running this truck empty for a month now, Edge set on stock, to get a baseline on mileage, which appears to be about 16.1 mpg. I am pretty happy with that.

Today we towed for the first time and man can this truck :grd:!! I'm impressed and it is exactly what I was hoping for.

I had the Edge set on 1 ("Mileage"), and used tow/haul mode to tow a gooseneck horse trailer with our 3 Belgian draft horses in it (adult mare, 2 yr old, and a foal). I'm guessing the weight was about 7000-7500 lb. I took it easy, maybe 60-62 mph.

I ran maybe the first 50 miles of the tank unloaded and the rest towing as described above, and got 11.7 mpg. I was a little disappointed, honestly. The previous owner told me he got upper 12's towing an enclosed 22' car hauler.

Is my mileage on par with what y'all are seeing? What's the best Edge setup for mileage towing?

TIA for your input.

When I would tow 10k, I would get 10-12 mpg.

Just towed my trailer 2 weeks ago, 30 ft Jayco that weighs about 7800 lbs loaded for camping. Out and return trip averaged that exact same 11.7 mpg. No chip or ecm mods, do have Banks cold air intake and Banks Monster exhaust installed. I am happy with anything over 10. Did keep it just under 2K rpm which means about 62 mph with my truck.

towing about 12,000,edge on 2,11.7 mpg,i run about 70 ,try different levels on edge to get your best, will take time to figure where it runs the best for your type of driving,

Depends alot on the wind also. With a strong headwind its down to 10. With a nice tailwind it can be 13-14.

Agree with all. Towing speed and wind play huge roles in mileage, but driving appx. 67 mph pulling about 10k I can get almost 12 mpg. Towing the TT I get about 9-10 mpg. Its like pulling a sail behind you. lol
