Hello im kinda new to this website my last login got locked out im in iraq and i can't get to that e-mail but i have been looking at buying a LB7 (like i said millitary not to much money) i have a older 6.2L NA right now been havin to many problems with it so i want to upgrade but my ? is one of the guys i work with said he was looking at diesels before we went on this deploment and he was telling me that there is a new law called the CARB Law or something that all diesels are going to hold up to these emision test by 2010 or something buy looking online all i can see is for big rigs and its for idiling it night he said he founds stuff online and he is trying to talk me out of buying a diesel he is saying that there will be expensive in long term for when i have to upgrade all the emisions any body have any ideas

You did not say what state you will be when you return-- so in California they have tried to pass a law to have diesel emission tested in the future-- Yes, 2010 was a date-- but NOTHING is finalized as of this date. Will you have to upgrade the emissions in the future-- NO! These trucks come with Federal emissions which is OK in most states. The California trucks (AND SOME OTHER STATES) already have more emission controls than the Federal vehicles. You will be OK if the emission law passes as long as the truck has the all the emissions controls, and they and they are working correctly,that was installed from the factory. Diesel fuel is $4.55 in So. Cal now and no end in sight!

Im stationed in SO Cal right now but im i live in wisconsin if i buy a truck it will be regestered in my home state and i will just have it in cal. tell the middle of 2010
