Diesel power did a tech article on this and it's posted on their website. They used a kit from Liberator Performance.

Hey gmdmax, has your buddy had very many probs out of the 6.0? I kinda feel sorry for the poor souls that drive a 6.0 PSD.

No need to feel sorry for us, 85K miles with not a single issue is a pretty dang good truck if you ask me. I drug my buddy's 06 duramax around my shop the other day trying to find a good spot in the flywheel so he could get her cranked to get home!:rotflmao: The same guy just replaced his waterpump and transfer case last month (35K miles) If you work your truck hard enough you will have more problems than the rest, the carwash queens are usually problem free.

I'm exceedingly experienced with the 6.0l. Its a better motor than its reputation would have you believe. And with mods it can screw pretty good. They put seriously de-tuned ones in buses. The little International BE bus (think: the ultimate short bus) can quite readily whip its tail out. And don't ask how I know that! hah.

From what I've seen dumping the egr on the 6.0 is a real pain in the ass and I wouldn't want to give Ford any excuse to drop the warrantly on the 6.0.

I am about to dump the egr on my 04' F350 6.0L. "offroad use only of course" lol Besides a fuel press gauge I believe it's the next best mod to making these trucks reliable. There is a great kit on ebay right now. Comes with everything needed & great instructions for a very reasonable price. This is my work truck with 300,000kms on it. With the price of new trucks i'd like to last for quite some time.
