My dad just had a 4" turbo back put on his truck. We sealed off and taped up all of the DPF electronics. There was also two tubes that look like there running from the turbo to almost the tail pipe. What needs to be done with those?

Those tubes should come off with the exhaust. There are two plugs up high that need to be unplugged and then you can remove those tubes.

I'll move this to fuel, air, exhaust and emissions upgrades for you.

So they need to be takin off the truck or just unhooked. I've never actually looked at them myself just trying to figure it out for him from what he has told me.

from the sounds of it, you'll unhook them from the connectors and they'll come off w/ your pipe.

Well the dealer cut them out of the old exhuast and welded them to the new exhuast. They have not had any experience with DPF removal until his and wasn't sure if they were going to be needed after the DPF removal. They said if there were not needed to bring it back and they would take them off and fix the holes for free. The dealer has been very cooperative becuase they are interested how much fuel mileage gain he is going to get. They have had a lot of people complaining about the poor fuel economy of the LMM.

I'm SHOCKED this is dealer involved, but, you're one of the lucky ones! LOL
Well some of the tuners will take care of the check engine light - You don't need them, and many if not ALL of the DPF-offer's just ditch them. if they're just unplugged and sitting in the exhaust i wouldnt even worry about it.

Yeah I know no one believes that the dealer did this. But my dad and the owner of the dealership have been friends for awhile even before he bought cars there, so that may help. He said as long as they did the work to the truck and we only had warranty and service work done there then he would honor the warranty. I had an 05 and my dad has had an 03,05,07 classic all with tuners exhaust and lifts and we have had no problem getting anything done...so far

Well don't let me taint it for you, that's GREAT luck and a relationship you'll want to keep!

My dealership wouldn't actually pull them, for obvious legal reasons. But, they encourage people to do so. It cuts down on their work and people don't keep bringing their trucks in each time they limp - equalling higher return rate.
Like others on here, my service writer said as long as people are up front with him, he doesn't care a bit. He doesn't see any way that exhaust mods can "hurt" the truck(s). He wouldn't dream of bringing all of the negative attention on his service shop that voiding warranties would bring.

I have the same deal going on with my dealer. Out of warranty, no problem; mods, no problem. They keep asking me when they'll see the stacks and the lift.:D
