I was looking around on Diamond Eye's web site and they have a Turbo Direct pipe that said it can lower EGT's by 150 degrees. What is that? Does it really work?

What is what? EGTs? Yes, it does work but is a royal PITA to install. Effectively lowers EGT's by allowing better exhaust flow. There are a few guys on here who have done it and took camparison pics of the pipes. Stock piece looks like it was beat with a mallet to fit.

Where does it go? Do you have links to the pictures? A search got me nothing...

Thanks!

Is this just a down pipe?

No, it is the pipe on the back of the motor.

IT dose help lower egts, you will notice the most difference @ WOT just putting around or freeway crusing dosent reall show ant difference but i notice a big difference when your into the throttle! It is a real PITA to install. I had the trans out when i did mine and it still was a royal pain!!!

i read in diesel power mag how to do it and the mechanic words were it sucks putting it in. but they also claimed it was worth it. i dont think you will tell a difference to much unless you tow alot or sled pull. thats just what i think. its only a half inch bigger but so is 4 inch exhuast.

Yes it is a true down pipe that goes to the back of your turbo and to the front pipe of your exhaust.

They are worth it the sound is better and the egt are great I have the Diamond direct pipe and bd manifold and I have never seen over 1400 deg racing with a hot tune and around 400 deg just normal driving. Thanks Brayden at Fleece Performance he installed mine while working his magic on the tranny. They are a PITA for sure it was a b!tch even with the tranny being out!

Mine helped after I installed it. I also installed the 5" Magnaflow downpipe back too. I had my friends PPE programmer in it sunday and it was set at 180. The pyro pegged *1600 for a few seconds. I can't believe it. Not used to that.

I have it. From 70 mph I ran up to 120 MPH and my EGT's were 1550 @ 29lbs boost with diablo 120 hp tune. Last time I did that it ran over 1600. I don't know if the outside temp had anything to do with it since it was diffrent times of the year. Its really hard to tell if it helped.

Mods r in the Garage and pic of my speedometer @ 120 MPH my tires are only rated for 116 and they have 50,000 miles on them didn't want to go faster

To all of you that have done it. What is the measurement of the band flange\flare at the turbo?

Im building a custom down pipe and need the spec of the Band flange so I can order one, and build.
