ATS has moved to a new shop and re-installed their Mustang dyno. It had a much heavier load than last year. See this post:

(Sorry Eric, you caught me in the middle of the post )

It was a fun day (Sunday, Feb 13) but only 16 trucks ran so it was over by 1:30.

My truck did better than I did. Only the second one I have run but I learned a lot. (about shiftin, how dynos run, how to fix a HJAT. . .) Thanks to CPMac's dual disc clutch kit, IBDMAX'IN on the install, and Super Diesel for a water/meth kit and install of Propane and NOS the truck did very well. No clutch slippin, even though the shiftin was a challenge givin the drum's load :cool2: . Super Diesel did a very reliable job on the installs, especially given that I did not have a propane tank, hobs swithches, or the correct solenoids !!!!! ( BTW all this was install on two weekends :) ) Bronco showed up and let me use his Quad 110. And GMCSLEHD replaced my fuel filter before the run !!!

I got to say that this forum shouid be RENAMED:

THE GREAT DIESEL PLACE

I am amazed at all the help I have received and all that I have learned and the new friends I have made. :thankyou2

There will be some additional mods coming over the summer that will improve the trucks performance. But based on this fun day and how well it did I would recommend Super Diesel and CPMac's products to anyone who is intrested in performance upgrades.

My truck came in second place after Maddog1's purpose-built ford/cummins (he ran 666 rwhp). My truck did 461 rwhp and 905 tq. A fella named Brian from Wisconson (not a memeber but I gave him a flyer) ran 460 rwhp but his tq was lower. I mention this because he said he had run over 600 rwhp at home. His trk had ATS, NOS, and some chip (SD do you recall?).

I don't intend to start any  arguements but I bet if this dyno had been set up as in the past I would have been well over 550 rwhp. :exactly:

(actually, you all can argue all you want :muahaha: )

I had a lot of fun :ro)

and more is on the way :D

Sounds like the numbers overall were low? Thin air maybe?

Dyno was reading way low. Was this the same dyno we ran on last year that Mike made upper 700's? If so, you should have been well above 461.

calibration....... how was this done? Did anyone put a "known value" on the rollers?

any stock hp to see how far it was out, you say you were running a lp and nos, normal shot of lp, or more, and what jet size for the nos, did you do any lp/wi runs by themselves, did you run a tts extreme, thanks fred

I believe the Dodge from Wis. had a TST programer on it. To give you an idea of how hard it was to pull, we had his truck (Deadeye) set up with a hot juice stacked with a 110 quad, a healthy shot of pane and a .xxx jet of N2O (small for testing now). At any rate it had some pretty good fuel for those #s. It probably could use a larger shot on the N2O, but this was safe (for now). At any rate, it was a good, fun day. It was nice to talk with Richard (maddog) and all the other power diesel lovers again. Shay and the guys from Rocky Mtn Power Stroke club as well as the wonderful folks from the TDR make us feel right at home (like we are all in this together), which is the way it should be.

So the dyno was so poorly tuned that a 1000 HP race built Cummins only made mid 600's?

That is a loss of over 300 HP unless MD's motor was sick at the same time. It is things like this that give dynos a bad rep.......

I agree Brandon. Mike or John, what did Maddog say about his numbers (or maybe he'll chime in)? That's why I ask if it was the same dyno. If so, something was seriously wrong. If I remember correctly Maddog made a little over 800hp last year on the ATS dyno. The only thing I can think is the dyno is new (since they are in a new building) and there were some gremlins hanging out.

It was the same dyno. It had just been re-installed in the new shop. Don't know about the calibration other than what Clint's employee mentioned. That ATS planned to move it into a different room and re-do the cal. Perhaps get Mustang to help.

Yes, Michael and Richard both were in the 800 range on it last year.
