Hey folks !
I have an appt at the dealer today at 5:00PM .(recall and muffler rattle) Before I go I need help from the tire experts out there ... I put new tires on my HD , (265/70/17's)...

The question is. Should I have the dealer recalibrate the speedo ??
(they want 1 hours time to do it )
Or ...Is , going from a 245/75/16 to a 265/70/17 really going to affect my truck that much if I leave it "as is" ??...

P.S. I Tow a 6000 # Trailer and do not want to hurt anything ....

Your quick responses would be greatly appreciated....Kevin

Spend less than $400 on a Predator tuner, be able to correct for tire sizes yourself, check fault codes, tune it up just a weeee little bit..., just to name a few of the benefits.
Better spent than paying stealer for a 1 time dealio.

Is the Predator like the westers tune I have read alot about on this site ? or is the westers just a tune only ?

Or ..Until I decide on a tune . should I have it calibrated for the new tires for now ?

Dealer cannot recal the speedo, the Predator will do it.

I was under the impression that the dealer could calibrate for a 267/75/16 ...I thought that would be closer to the 265/70/17 than the stock 245's . I guess I was wrong

By the way , I just got back from dropping it off at the dealer . Told them not to worry about it , leave it the way it is

Although, Yesterday , I brought my travel trailer home from storage. I noticed that with the new tires , I was not able to climb the long (and steep) hill as well with the 265/70/17's as I did with the 245/75/16's ...So I am thinking I need a little more Tune to compensate for the tires ...I guess thats (predator or ?) next , More power !!

Dealer can only recalibrate the ABS, not the speedo. Some dealers don't even seem willing to do that.

OCDUNE,

Thanks for the input ...Guess I need to buy after market or go to a custom speed shop and have it done .. Kevin
