: Setting up safety's on Edge w/Attitude

I'm considering several possibilities for a programmer or chip for my lb7. I was wondering how easy it is to set up all of the safety features on the Edge box. I like the fact that the Six gun has them preset but so many seem to think the Edge is better if set up right. I am far from an expert when it comes to diesel, so I don't want to get in over my head setting this up to protect the truck if I decide to go this route. How does Edge compare to the six gun in protecting the tranny? I would like all pro's and con's. I'm deciding between Edge w/ attitude, Six gun w/ speed loader, and Predator.
Thanks for all input!:ro)

I don't know about the rest but the edge is extremely easy to set up.
The attitude has a menu button on its face. In the menu options is (among others) a transmission setup option.Press enter and you have 3 options:

defuel on all shifts
defuel on locked shifts
do not defuel
The low boost fueling can also be controlled.
There are limits you can set for your EGT's, Boost, Slip so it will defuel (back to stock if needed) if any of your limits get met.
Overall my opinion would be to go with the edge w/attitude monitor. But I can't speak for everyone else I'm sure anyone that has a different tuner will probably give you good points on theirs also.
The only thing I wish it could do is read/erase codes.Hope this helps alittle in your decision process.

The E/J seemed to be one of the favorites on the Lb7's, not the same story though for the LLY's. I have an LLY, however the tranny protection, EGT gauge/alarm, boost monitor and the other features appear to be the same for both. The Predator offers no engine or tranny protection that I'm aware of.

You might search on the Power/Performance and LB7 forum's to see what others with the same engine are saying. Good luck. I'm happy with the E/J w/attitude and like the ability to shift on the fly and make adjustments. JJ :)

Sorry I guess I should have specified that I have an LB7. I have added it in my signature now though.

Thanks guys. Keep the opinions and info coming!
Also, can you make speedo corrections for tire size with edge/attitude?

Its veryy easy to set up. For a stock transed truck you dont want to set the juice over its 90 hp level IMO. Also set it up to defuel on all shifts. If your towing or loaded you dont want to run it in 90 either IMO. The EGT defuel on the juice is nice since if you pull up to a light or something and want to turn it off to have a lil fun its easy to do and it will go back to its preset limit after a short time. EGT defuel isnt a big deal IMO if your unloaded. If your loaded a conservative # would be 1250 or 1300*

Edit: a juice will display the corrected speed on its display but if you want the spedo on your truck to read right you need a tuner or the like from TTS or predator, or quad, ect.

I left all my edge/attitude protection's set to the factory default except the upper speed limit which was set to 80mph. I defuel on all shifts with my stock tranny and have done a couple of level 5 burnouts (when it hits 2nd gear from a stop) with no limp. The predator has no protections built in. I run my predator at with the 40hp tune and the edge on level 1. It gets up and goes pretty good. I figure the edge will help protect things if needed. I'd go with the edge/attitude. I have had no issues with it and love the features.
