Not to http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/stirthepot.gif , but I haven't seen any comments on this yet. It looks like In late January Mobil 1 introduced Mobil 1 Extended Performance, oil that is good for 15000 miles guaranteed.

Here is the product page

Here is the guarantee

I know that this can be a touchy subject, but I would love to hear input on this from some of the knowlegable members here. (<--- if that is not you, feel free to chime in anyway http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif ).

I saw this oil at Walmart the other day, but I didn't look at pricing.

It also reads on the label, "if your vehicle is under factory warranty then follow manufacturers recomended service intervals".
I seen that as well. Oil and motors have come along way so no reason they can't ditch the 3k drain.

I used Mobil1 10W-40 and M1-201 filter in my 99 Z-71 since 1st oil change and change at 5000 mile intervals and now has 117,000 with no issues. I use Mobil1 15W-50 Red Cap in my R6 and ST1100. I changed to M1 in the R6 at first oil change (600 miles) with no issues. The R6 has a 15,500rpm redline and spends most of it's life between 10,000 and 14.500rpm - that's GOT to be tough on oil, but it sure is easy on the fun factor :D

I have Mobil1 10W-40 and AC-Delco filter waiting to go into the HD as soon as I get time to change it. Does anyone know of a Mobil1 filter to fit the 6.0 Liter?

Just A Caution:

Before any of you (we) Bowtie diesel heads out there run out and start buying this, note that it is not rated for diesel engines (anywhere that I can find) and appears for be for gassers, only.

Please correct me on this if I am wrong. Would be nice to have such for diesels.

I change my intervals all the time based on hwy driving or not, dusty roads etc. I would be more consurned about contaminats in the oil going that long. Funny thing is my first truck was a '80 Silverado that had 300K on it. Before I got it and fixed all the oil leakes and changed the oil it had probly been 75K or so on that dino oil. Ran fine till some one removed the drain plug at a party and I drove 20 miles till I noticed what was wrong. Put some oil in it drove it home and turned that 350 into a 383.
