Today i was out for a tour when the truck started to run a little sugish. Then it would not rev over 2 grand. I stopped in town for a few minutes (truck turned off) and when i started it up and left town it seemed fine. Any ideas on what it was and how to correct?

THanks!!!

You need to read the codes. You will have a 1093 - low fuel rail pressure. Change you fuel filter and the problem will probably go away. If not you need to shim your fprv.

Good luck.

If it ever starts running like a powerstroke its the injector harness grunding out on the block but sounds like a fuel pressure code get a fingerstick or look at ppe they have a good piece to fix that and shim kit

sounds like a 1093, either the filter is old or you got a bad slug of fuel. Or you are running a monster tune!!!

shocka,
under unsert CP, please update your signature and tell us what you have done to the truck. That will help people who read your threads help you with your questions...!
As far as the issue you run into. Please, check for codes and then act accordingly. Seems like a fuel related issue to me.

Isn't the "won't rev past 2000" the trans in limp mode?

tranny limp is default to 2nd gear I believe.

Not always. That is also a engine limp mode.

And trans limp goes to 3rd gear.

Just did it again....same issue, passed a car, took the RPM's up to about 3200 (where it defueled) and then after that it would not rev over 2000rpm. Truck shifted up through all gear with no issue...just would not rev over 2000rpm. No light.

Mine has done this as well without throwing a code. It is the fuel filter.

If that does not fix the problem, you may have an harness rub (passenger side of alternator) or injector connection problem. Check "Ice Pick #2 and #7".

Changing the fuel filter is a good idea... however you most def need to go to your local autoparts dealer that has a code reader available for use... Have them scan for any stored trouble codes. If there are any, put them into the search box on this forum... should help you find the culprit.
