Need help choosing a trans. for a 2008 GMC 2500HD. It has a 495tune from Nick @ Dmaxtuner, with a strait pipe and it will be getting an intake and a lift pump. It is also lifted with a 9" CST on 37 swampers and 22s. What is the best transmission to go with? It will also be used to tow a dozer on a goosneck(with a diff. tune of course). Need some input. Thanks.

At your power level I would get at least a stage 4 tranny, Suncoast and ATS are popular on this site, PPE also builds a great tranny. PPE uses Suncoast kits but the good thing about them is you can choose any converter you want, your not limited to just one brand.

37 swampers, gooseneck ,dozer ,9" lift, will be a good test for all thoughts moving parts in that drive line. Is it a medium size dozer or a 953 cat. Have any pics of what you are pulling

My brother's truck is an 07.5 LMM with Nick's tune and his Fleece SCIV works great with it.

Its a John Deere 450J LGP cab and air. So what is the best converter to go with? As for the trans. I was thinking suncoast stage 5 but wasnt sure if there was something better to go with for towing.

Ya.... your truck is gonna snap trying to tow a 18,000 pound dozer on a gooseneck with a 9" on 22s.

Hahaha it will handle it all day long. I am running the suncoast stage 4 with the 1058 converter from Suncoast, built by Mike L. I love it.

Oh, you checked his total weight, tire ratings, 22" rim weight ratings, pin weight, etc?
