I just bought a key fob for my 1997 6.5 Suburban and searching on here I found the way to program it is holding the lock, cycle key twice, and it should lock and unlock and then do the key fob thing...
Well, I tried that and it did absolutly nothing. After cycling the key, no locking and unlocking. I bought a new battery for it just in case the battery in the key fob is dead but dont have the time to try it right now.

Is there anything Im doing wrong is something different for the mid 90s? I checked the fuses on the side of the dash and under the hood and I dont see anything labled for the keyless entry. Is there a fuse somewhere else? Thanks.

No fuses to worry about. My 99 Tahoe works the same way. The two button trick only works for transmitters that have already been used on the car. For a completely new remote, or used... take a paperclip and jump #4 and #8 in the connector under the dash (obdII connector). The doors should lock and unlock. Keep the paperclip in there and hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the remote. The doors will lock and unlock again. Remove paperclip, start car, shut car off. Enjoy the new remote. :)

alright, I came across that diagram from a post but I guess I missed where it said it worked for new remotes. I will be trying this tomorrow! thanks again.

Nope, it will make sparks fly out of the connector though!

Try this for your 05. I'm not 100% sure, but it's worth a shot. Hold the unlock button down on the door, turn the key to run, back to off, back to run, and back to off. Release the door unlock button. Hold the "lock" and "unlock" buttons on the remote for up to 30 seconds, or until the doors lock and unlock. Turn the key back to "run" and go.
