first ??? Do you achieve more horsepower, or hit higher horsepower levels faster in tow mode? and second ??? if i pulled up to a light and was tempted to roast a ricer, would tow mode benifit my temptations???
btw- i also dyno'd my truck yesterday and had the trans in towhaulmode the whole time; good idea ? bad idea??? any infos great!

It changes the shift points and lock the tranny in 2nd through 6th gear. In standard the only gears that are locked are 5t, 6th. I have heard on here that your tranny will learn seperatly, one in tow/haul and one in std. Hope this helps.

WHAT?????? locks the tranny 2nd-6th????? HUH

It does raise the shift points, and locks the converter in,but it dont lockout 1st gear.As for dynoing with tow/haul just try it.

1) no more Xtra power but would hold the gear longer to jump ahead.
2) yes again to keep the R's up and get all power available I would use T/H mode to roast the ricer.
3) not sure in what gear to dyno (someone else said 4th) does that mean manual shift to 4th and hold it there? Not quite clear there. Maybe some one else can chime in on details.

Yes, they use a specific gear to get the 1:1 ratio for the most accurate results.

tow/haul mode & shift to manual 4.

Does the T/H mode work in manual mode?
From what ive read the T/H is disabled in manual.

if you put it in manual 4, then push tow/haul at a dead stop, it will lock in every gear up to 4th, which is then a 1:1 ratio for dynos.

Also when your put it to the floor without T/H the torque converter locks in 2nd and up. But unlocks when you let off.

About 85+% throttle and up from second gear it will lock the torque converter. At least in my five speed. Dunno if the six speeds are different. But lower throttle driving wont lock it till fifth and sixth.
