I had my tires replaced yesterday with some new Terra Grapplers. The old bfg's I had were worn uneven. The left front was ok but the right front was very uneven. The outside of the tire was pretty bald with the inner still ok. The truck didnt drive bad but the minute I left discount tire and got on the freeway the truck felt like it was all over the place. It was like the front tires were on ice. Is this a sign of the idler and pitman or maybe something else?

Sounds like it could be... easy enough to check it out, so be sure to do that... Jack up the front wheel (one at a time) and grab it at the 9 and 3 and try to move it. If it moves a lot, you have some loose things. It will move a little. If you grab it at the 12 and 6, and it moves a lot, you may have some wheel bearings going bad.

also remember that if you are use to a certain tire size and tread and change it up, it may feel a lil different to you.. on my z71 (before my Dmax) i was running the 35 terras and when i bought my 08 and lifted it i'm running the Toyo MTs. it felt like the front tires were on ice alot until i got used to it.. Definitely check for potential wear though to make sure ya know

I hear ya. Its definitely not right. I am going to check it after work tonight. I have switched tiredsbefore and know they feel a little different but the way the old tire was cut there is definitely an alignment problem.

What did you find out? I had the exact same problem, but was townfair tire. I freaked out and ordered everything in my sig. after (coming) then took the truck back in an had them check the balance and alignment (which I had done when buying the new tires). Three of the tires were way out of balance and the alignment was way off. They also had the tires inflated to the max psi as printed on the sidewall! Welll that that did not help. After fixing the alignment, balancing and psi issues problems solved, now the front tires are sawtoothing (feathering). i am going to a real alignment shop next.
