Does anyone know how to turn the injection pump up on one of these? Is it very complicated?

I work as a service tech for Deere and I asked the other day after seeing this thread how hard it was to do. Being as though I haven't turned one of these up (yet), I'm going by what the other techs at work said. Basically, you take the back cover off of the pump and from what they said there are some springs that you have to removed to access an allen head screw that controls the fuel delivery. Like I said being a service tech, we don't mess with turning these tractors up, especially the older ones, very much. If you're interested, I'll look it up in the tech manual and find out for sure, both to help you out and for my own curiousity. Without a pyro on it, I probably wouldn't get too radical with it. It's also hard to tell for sure on any tractor when you turn it up how much you're actually increasing fuel without a dyno available.

Yeah man that would be great! We don't use the tractor much but wouldn't mind havin a little more power/smoke

I tried to look today but as anyone that works for Deere can tell you, the older tech manuals aren't all that informative. I looked all through the 4000 series service manual, but I need to find the manual on the fuel injection pumps and injectors to be able to tell you step by step. I'll see if I can't find it tomorrow and get back to ya.
