I have a question for the techs or anybody with the knowledge of this subject. In gas engines, if you have no cat or muffler or to say any back pressure, you will burn out your exhaust valves. This I believe happens over time because of the hot gases flowing fast over the valves and it burns them out. Does this happen with the diesels if your straight piped and no kitty or does the turbo have enough back pressure to prevent this from happening? This is just a thought. Any feed back please.

the turbo provides all the backpressure the valves will need.

I wish somebody could tell this guy I know with a Doodge that. He says you can't have any bigger than 4" because diesels have to have backpressure too

i dont understand why it would burn exhaust valves? :o:

even if you do have backpressure in a gaspot the exhaust gasses are still going to go over the valves right?

??? So all of the older cars and trucks with flow through glass packs or the old dimpled pipes that came stock as duals on old chevelles and camaros caused them to burn valves? They ran pretty well with no cat or restriction from a muffler.
